Objective: To obtain a position in product development, or business development that will be challenging and innovative, in a company with an information-delivery business unit and a strong online strategy.

Summary: Since completing my university degree in 1997 at Syracuse University, I have been involved with an e-publishing start-up in a series of career building positions. As the second employee, and sole responsible production staff, I built that function to a department of 26 staff members while the company enjoyed market leader status and successive investment from strategic partners such as Random House Ventures and Bertelsmann. Subsequent moves to Product Manager and Marketing Manager have developed my project management, product development, and traditional offline, as well as online, marketing skills. Currently based in London and responsible for the marketing efforts of the UK branch of Xlibris, I am looking for an opportunity to continue working in a web- and information-focused environment.

Work experience:

Marketing Manager - Xlibris Corp. Sept. 2000 - Feb. 2001
Selected from a pool of over 35 applicants to be one of four European pioneers. Responsible for entire marketing efforts of Xlibris UK, first international division of Xlibris Corp. Prepared short and long term marketing plans with strict adherence to budget constraints, forecasted company sales and customer acquisition costs, coordinated brand identity and advertising goals with UK based ad agency, conducted market research consisting of telephone omnibus surveys and focus groups, prepared presentations for industry speaking engagements, designed and produced company's marketing materials across the board.

Product Manager - Xlibris Corp. May 2000 - Sept. 2000
Created and developed new products for introduction into the company's service mix. Position required intense project management skills to coordinate the efforts of IT, Operations, and Marketing during the period of the company's greatest growth. Researched and developed two new products for the company which raised the revenue per customer by 8% and had a sell-through of over 25% upon introduction. Devised the company's ebook strategy and implemented the addition of the ebook format to a list of over 3,000 titles. Revised and created services to streamline operational efficiency and reduce production costs by adapting the company's products to the changing factors of the Print On Demand and digital publishing industry.

Production Manager - Xlibris Corp. May 1999 - May 2000
Hired over 24 staff members during the company's expansion. Devised the production database that guided and enhanced the workflow. Created the criteria used to determine team member effectiveness and the reporting tools necessary to measure those benchmarks. Scaled the Production effort from 20 books a month to over 300 books finished each month.

Production Associate - Xlibris Corp. April 1998 - May 1999
Hired on a temporary contract in the second month after the company's initial product launch. Converted to full time employee after three weeks. Developed the processes and systems for accomplishing the company's core business: the efficient production of books. Created over 250 books during the company's first year before documenting and teaching that process to the first four Production personnel. Analyzed the tools necessary for the digital production of books through their storage as digital files, printing, and delivery to customers. Helped develop policies and services as the company experienced the elements of this completely new market.

Education: Bachelor of Fine Arts, 1997, Syracuse University. Dual major in Film Production and Drama.
